River’s Edge Academy is the Twin Cities only Expeditionary Learning School. The school will open in the fall with 9th and 10th grade, expanding one grade each year. The high school will open with sixty students and will never have a population of more than three hundred students.

Students will participate in hands on, place-based, service learning. The ‘green’ school is committed to environmental education and stewardship. Our curriculum is focused on the Mississippi River. The block schedule provides opportunity for cooperative and interdisciplinary study.

River’s Edge Academy is a free, public, charter high school. The school is located at One West Water Street, on the Mississippi River at the foot of the Wabasha Bridge.
